The publication elaborates on the matters associated with transformer oil and its meaning in diagnostics. The processes of paper-oil insulation ageing were discussed as well as the ways of mechanical deformation of winding diagnosis, oil management system and new diagnostic methods, which can be used to prepare complex transformer technical state assessment and operation risk assessment.
